Mercedes reveals details of George Russell’s ‘catastrophic failure’ at F1 Canadian Grand Prix

The Mercedes F1 staff has introduced that George Russell’s retirement from the Canadian Grand Prix was brought on by a “catastrophic” battery failure.

Russell was main Mercedes teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli when his automotive immediately stopped on lap 30, permitting the Italian teenager to take a fourth consecutive uncontested win and a 43-point lead over Russell within the championship.
